The name ‘Australia’ comes from the Latin word ‘Australis’, meaning southern and we call it the "Great Southern Land"


The indigenous people of Australia are referred to as Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders and call themselves Koori.


Australia is home to many unique animals, including the koala, kangaroo, emu, Tassie Devil, kookaburra, and platypus.


The world's largest reef system, the Great Barrier Reef, is found off the north-eastern coast of Australia

Australia is so vast it encompasses a range of different landscapes and  Climates,

from the  tropical rain forests  of the north, to the deserts in the centre, and from the mountain ranges  to   the  arctic in the south.
